Before You Call the Board

Before you call the Board with questions, please be reminded that:

  1. Neither the Board’s Executive Director nor other staff members can offer Board “positions” on issues raised. Callers must understand that the Board and its staff cannot offer legal advice or advice on how to handle a specific professional situation.
  2. We have determined that answers to most callers’ questions posed to staff could have been answered by reviewing the Rules of Professional Conduct.
  3. Written summaries of callers’ questions and discussions with staff are typically prepared after each call and placed on record and may become subject to disclosure as “public records” under the Ohio Sunshine Laws.
  4. The Board cannot provide referrals to specific attorneys.

Licensees are welcome to call the Board office with questions, keeping this summary in mind.
